In 2022 Pedro Rivas joined as GM of Mercado Pago Mexico. After spending over 15 years in tech-enabled hypergrowth companies, he has teamed-up with Mercado Pago to help advance the company further as an innovative high-growth business.
Pedro recently served as COO for OXIO, where he established the first commercial operation of a Telco-as-a-Service platform in Mexico. Prior to OXIO, Pedro helped revolutionize urban transportation in LatAm and Spain as he served as CBO for Cabify (ride hailing) and CEO for Movo (electric micro-mobility). Pedro has also co-founded and exited 2 food-tech companies based out of NYC. Previously he acted as the managing director for Peixe Urbano in LatAm where he established and grew operations across 5 countries. He started his tech-focused career at Apple where he spent 4 years managing operations for the iPhone product line.
Mr. Rivas has not only helped raise over $100M for venture backed businesses but is also an active angel investor and start-up advisor. He has invested in over 20 capital raises of
tech-centric companies in LatAm
Pedro holds an MBA from Stanford University and B.S in Industrial Engineering from
Universidad Iberoamericana.
