Cindy Rayo Zapata has more than 15 years of experience in the negotiation of international trade agreements, as well as in the design and implementation of public policies in sectors such as telecommunications, digital commerce, cross-border trade in services, investment, and investment arbitration. She was responsible for the implementation of the TMEC for the issues of services, digital trade and investment, and for the coordination of the intersecretariat group that included the participation of the private sector, for the design of policies and regulations related to digital platforms, cybersecurity, protection of personal data, facilitation of electronic commerce and consumer protection. She was responsible for coordinating the 5G and cybersecurity Group within the framework of the High Level Economic Dialogue between Mexico and the United States, managing to install the first 5G and cybersecurity Committee between both countries. She has a Master’s Degree in Public International Law from the Technological Institute of Higher Studies of Monterrey, and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Law from ITAM. Currently, she is the Director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean of ASIET.
